Woodstock Guitars

This is not the first 60’s Fender we’ve seen in Candy Apple Red, but it is definitely one of the coolest.

This 1966 Fender Telecaster’s original post-CBS Candy Apple Red finish, applied red-over-gold has aged fantastically to the point where it now has a subtle, warm orange tint, complemented by extensive wear and beautiful lacquer checking, giving the guitar a truly distinctive and unique aesthetic. This, combined with the rare and desirable maple cap neck makes this a really rare and desirable vintage piece.

It has been refretted with larger modern frets, so it also plays exceptionally well. Otherwise it is all original. Neck date is April 1966, pots date to week 17 of 1966. At just 3400 grams (7.5 lbs), it is very lightweight and resonant, delivering all the snap and twang you could want.

The guitar includes its original case, which, while showing significant wear, remains fully functional and a testament to the instrument’s rich history.

With its absolutely killer looks, light weight, superb playability and awesome tone, this 1966 Fender Telecaster is a standout vintage guitar that encapsulates the charm and sound of an iconic era. A must-have for collectors and players alike.
