The Martin D-35 Johnny Cash 1932-2003 Commemorative Edition is Martin\u2019s tribute to Johnny Cash\u2019s custom black D-35, the guitar strongly associated with his later stage image.<\/p>\n
The model follows the core D-35 recipe with a dreadnought body, Engelmann spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, three-piece back and forward-shifted scalloped bracing, but adds a full gloss black finish, antique white binding, abalone rosette, star fingerboard inlays and Johnny Cash\u2019s signature inlay near the end of the fingerboard.<\/p>\n
This 2022 example is numbered #1243 and has the signed internal commemorative label. It has also been fitted with an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup system. Weight is 2300g.<\/p>\n
It has only standard playwear and very slight checking, but the frets are like new and the guitar plays great. Includes original case and some paperwork.<\/p>\n
