The Fender Contemporary Stratocaster was part of Fender’s attempt to modernize the Strat for the hard rock and metal era. Built in Japan at the renowned Fujigen factory, these guitars introduced advanced features that set them apart from traditional Strats, including high-output pickups, locking tremolo systems, and innovative electronics. Designed to compete with the Superstrats of the mid-’80s, the Contemporary series blended classic Fender craftsmanship with modern, shred-friendly appointments.
This Metallic Green Contemporary Stratocaster is a prime example of the era’s forward-thinking design. The TBX tone control and coil tap switch provide a versatile tonal palette, allowing players to switch between humbucking power and more traditional Strat-like single-coil tones. The large frets are in 90% condition and provide excellent playability. The guitar has a distinct ’80s Fender feel despite its more metal-oriented hardware. Weight is 3800g.
The guitar has playwear consistent with its age, with some dings on the back, but plays great and rocks hard! Comes in a non-original period-correct case.
A killer ’80s rock machine with a distinct feel and sound, perfect for players who love the vintage Superstrat vibe with a Fender twist.
