The 2009 Gibson SG Standard in Heritage Cherry is a beautiful example of one of Gibson’s most iconic electric guitars. With only minor playwear, this guitar is in excellent condition and has been well cared for. Weight is 3700g. Known for its lightweight build, exceptional playability, and punchy tone, this SG Standard delivers the classic Gibson sound and feel. Original case included.

Model History
The Gibson SG (Solid Guitar) was introduced in 1961 as a redesign of the Les Paul model. Featuring a lighter, thinner double-cutaway body with beveled edges, the SG offered improved upper-fret access and a sleeker aesthetic. Initially released as the “Les Paul SG,” it was later rebranded to simply “SG” in 1963 after Les Paul’s endorsement ended.

Over the decades, the SG has become synonymous with hard rock and blues, played by legendary musicians such as Angus Young (AC/DC), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Derek Trucks, and Eric Clapton during his Cream years. Its distinctive looks and sharp, cutting tone have made it a mainstay for guitarists across genres.
