Here’s an awesome 1961 Gretsch Duo Jet in Cadillac Green that’s ready to bop around the ballroom all night long. Or something like that…..

Originally introduced in the 1950s, the Gretsch Duo Jet quickly gained popularity among musicians for its unique voice and aesthetic appeal. Famous players such as George Harrison, Malcolm Young, and Billy Duffy have all wielded the Duo Jet, contributing to its iconic status in the world of electric guitars.

This particular 1961 Gretsch Duo Jet has a few stories to tell. Most obviously, the top has been nitro refinished in classic Gretsch Cadillac Green. The rest of the guitar has its original finish. It has also been refretted, one tuner is not original and  the trem arm is not original, and the pickguard is missing. The bridge may or may not be original.

So, all in all, not an investment grade case queen, but a real-deal 1961 Duo Jet in the best possible colour that plays better than it did when it was new, sounds just right, and looks fantastic. Not to mention the fact that it obviously costs a lot less than an all-original example would cost, if you could find one.
