Woodstock Guitars

A fabulous ’57 survivor, this road dog Esquire has seen some honky tonkin’ in its 66 years, so it’s had a few changes since it left Fullerton, most notably the addition of a neck pickup, but it remains an original finish golden era rock ‘n roll machine.

The guitar is very light and resonant, and feels and sounds just right. Weight is 3100g. Includes original and highly desirable “US Koylon” branded tweed case.

The guitar has no neck date – this is not uncommon, and appears original, with no sign of it having been removed.  The body is stamped 1957. Pots are dated 1959, so would have most likely been changed early in the guitar’s life. It has obviously been “Telecastered”, with an added neck pickup that most likely is a Seymour Duncan item.

The switch tip has been replaced with a round tip, not the original “top hat” style tip. Knobs are the rounded top course knurl type. These change to a finer knurl flat top type around ’56/’57, but we believe these to be original to the guitar. The pickguard is not original, and has obviously been changed when the neck pickup was added.

The bridge pickup is the original and measures 7.15, the neck pickup measures 7.25. The guitar has been refretted with medium jumbo frets, so it is 100% ready to go out there and rock for another 66 years.
