Gibson Hummingbird True Vintage 2008 USED

The Gibson Hummingbird was introduced in 1960 as Gibson’s first square-shouldered dreadnought, featuring a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and the distinctive decorated pickguard that has remained a defining feature of the model.

The True Vintage series was introduced in 2007, with the aim of reproducing the construction, materials and appointments of Gibson’s original acoustic models. In 2008, Gibson released a special Limited Edition of just 167 Hummingbird True Vintage VOS guitars worldwide, featuring a 1960-style Cherry Burst finish, vintage-correct appointments, and a special period-correct hardshell case.

This example features a premium solid Sitka spruce top with hand-scalloped X-bracing, solid mahogany back and sides, and a mahogany neck with a bound AAA Madagascar rosewood fingerboard. The bridge is also made from Madagascar rosewood. Other features include gold vintage-style Keystone tuners, a bone nut and saddle, mother-of-pearl parallelogram fingerboard inlays, and the characteristic Hummingbird pickguard with its detailed floral and hummingbird artwork.

The VOS nitrocellulose finish has a lightly aged appearance, with the darker Cherry Burst finish extending to the mahogany back and sides.

The guitar is in excellent condition with standard minor playwear. Frets are like new. No breaks or structural repairs. Weight is 1900 grams.

Includes the original black Gibson hardshell case with yellow interior in good condition, along with the COA and original paperwork.
