Fender Jazz Bass Vintage White 1978

DKK 19995

Made during Fender’s early 1980s reset, this Jazz Bass combines late-70s cosmetics with a new, more modern build approach. It has a 1978 serial number, because Fender used remaining decals and parts through 1982, and has the desirable early-80s “red bottom” single-coil pickups, the same spec seen on the first Fullerton reissue instruments. Importantly, it also has the traditional 4-bolt neck construction in 1982, unlike an actual late 70’s Jazz Bass which has a 3-bolt neck like many other Fenders of the era.

The finish is Vintage White that has naturally yellowed with age. The neck has binding with dot inlays, a classic late-70s/early-80s Jazz feature. Electronics are original and the pots date to 1982. The pickguard is an Allparts replacement, original is not present. Weight is 5100g. Frets are about 90% and the bass plays great. There are some scratches around the truss rod access from adjustment work over the years. Included newer tweed Warwick Rockcase hardshell case. Some white paint has been applied to the control plate to mark knob positions. Overall condition is very good.

Overall, a cool bass from Fender’s early 80s renaissance period!
