Cool alert! 1965 Fender Jazzmaster in Candy Apple Red. Doesn’t get much cooler, we think.
All original except for the high E tuner replacement, with all the hallmarks of a well-loved gigging guitar. The neck is dated April 1965, and the potentiometers date to the 15th week of 1965, affirming its mid-year production. Both pickups are original and stamped with 1965 dates, while the frets, though worn from years of use, remain playable. Weight is 3580g. The Candy Apple Red finish has notable wear along the edges, back, and matching headstock, as can be seen in the photos.
Introduced in 1958, the Fender Jazzmaster was originally marketed as a high-end alternative to the Stratocaster, intended to appeal to jazz guitarists. However, its unique design and tonal versatility found favor among surf rock players in the 1960s and later among alternative and indie musicians. With its offset waist body for improved balance when seated and innovative floating tremolo system, the Jazzmaster was unlike anything Fender had produced before. Its wide, flat single-coil pickups delivered a warm, full sound distinct from the Stratocaster and Telecaster.
