Gibson SG Standard ’61 Stop Bar Pelham Blue USED

The Gibson SG Standard ’61 is based closely on the original SG design introduced in 1961, when Gibson temporarily discontinued the Les Paul model and introduced the radically redesigned double-cutaway solidbody that became known as the SG.

It has a solid mahogany body with the familiar deeply sculpted double-cutaway shape, paired with a mahogany neck with Gibson’s SlimTaper profile. The bound rosewood fingerboard has a 12″ radius, 22 medium jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays, while the neck joins the body at the 22nd fret for excellent access to the highest frets.

Period-style details include a black 5-ply teardrop pickguard, nickel-plated hardware, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece. Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons and a Graph Tech nut provide the tuning hardware.

The electronics consist of a pair of 60s Burstbucker humbuckers, wired to two volume and two tone controls with Orange Drop capacitors. These pickups are designed to provide the classic SG sound with plenty of output and a clear top end.

This Gibson-exclusive version is finished in Pelham Blue and includes a Gibson hardshell case.
