Fender Custom Shop Todd Krause Masterbuilt ’63 Stratocaster Relic Black 2008 BRUGT

This 2008 Fender Custom Shop ’63 Stratocaster Relic in Black is a Todd Krause Masterbuilt example of the classic early-1963 Strat recipe: small headstock, rosewood fingerboard, three single-coils, and vintage-style hardware, finished with a subtle black-over-sunburst relic treatment.  A 9.5-inch radius and 6105 frets add modern playability.

Todd Krause is one of the long-standing Fender Custom Shop Master Builders, best known for high-end one-off builds and artist-level work where consistency, detail, and playability are the priority. A Masterbuilt Strat from this period is also attractive to players who want a Custom Shop instrument from an era associated with a more hands-on, vintage-focused approach.

Weight is light at 3400g, which also contributes to a lively and resonant guitar. The guitar was born with a Clapton-style mid-boost system, which has been removed and replaced with a passive Strat-style 1 volume and 2 tone layout. All original electronics are still fully functional and included in the case, so the guitar can be returned to original spec if desired. Includes the ashtray bridge cover and some case candy, including the COA, but the commonly included strap is not there.
