Gibson Les Paul Slash Goldtop 2008
DKK 24995
Gibson’s work with Slash has produced a long series of Les Paul models through Gibson USA, Gibson Custom and Epiphone. In 2008 alone, the company released several different Slash instruments, including the Gibson USA Goldtop shown here. Announced in September and released worldwide on 7 October 2008, this version was limited to 1,000 guitars. It was based on Slash’s 1991 Goldtop, a guitar stolen from his collection in 1999. It is a separate model from the later Slash Collection “Victoria” Goldtop.
The model follows a traditional Les Paul Standard format but uses a set of Slash-specific details. The neck profile combines the fuller shape associated with late 1950s Les Pauls with the reduced depth of early 1960s examples. Pickups are exposed coil Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro humbuckers. The gold Slash skull, top-hat and signature graphic on the headstock distinguish it from a regular 2008 Les Paul Standard.
This example has seen very little use, with only very minor playwear. The frets are approximately 95%. Weight is 4100g. The original black hardshell case is included and in great condition, with its white interior and exterior Slash motif. Some paperwork is also included, but not the COA.
