Fender Coronado XII 1967
DKK 24995
Fender’s Coronado family was introduced in 1966 as the company’s first thinline, fully hollow electric, intended to be a competitor to the popular Gibson ES-330 and Epiphone Casino. It was designed by Roger Rossmeisl and kept some Fender DNA, like the bolt-on neck, while using a floating bridge and DeArmond pickups instead of Fender’s usual designs.
The Coronado XII arrived in 1967 with the large “hockey-stick” 12-string headstock. Like the rest of the original Coronado line, it is a true hollowbody with no center block, so it has plenty of acoustic resonance, especially with 12 strings.
This particular example has a February 1967 neck date and is all original. It has the classic thinline double-cut body with bound f-holes, a large gold pickguard, two DeArmond single-coils, a 3-way toggle, and four knobs. It has lots of playwear, finish checking, and some flaking, but it all looks great and just adds to the overall vibe. The original frets are low, but in good condition. No case. Weight is 3000g.
