Fender ’57 Twin Amp BRUGT
The Fender ’57 Custom Twin-Amp is a hand-wired reissue of Fender’s late-1950s tweed Twin, built in the American Hand-Wired series and based on the 5E8A circuit. It is a 40-watt all-tube 2×12 combo with two channels and a simple control layout, aimed at players who want the bigger spread and headroom of a Twin in classic tweed form.
This example is in excellent condition, with only minor scuffing to the tweed. It includes the original cover. Build quality is one of the main features here. The cabinet is finger-jointed solid pine, and Fender used Mercury Magnetics transformers and Pure Vintage yellow capacitors in the design. Controls are kept straightforward, with separate Bright and Normal channel volumes plus shared Presence, Bass and Treble controls. Tube complement includes 12AY7 and 12AX7 preamp tubes, two 6L6 power tubes, and two 5U4 rectifier tubes.
Compared with smaller tweed combos, the ’57 Custom Twin-Amp offers more low-end depth, more clean headroom, and a wider overall sound, while still keeping the quick response and natural breakup associated with this era of Fender amps. This is a clean and original example of a premium U.S.-made Fender reissue.
