Gibson ES-335 Dot Plain Top Cherry Memphis 2012 BRUGT
Very cool 2012 Gibson ES-335 Dot Plain Top in Cherry from Gibson’s Memphis production period. Gibson opened its Memphis operation in 2000 and made the factory its centre for ES-series hollow and semi-hollow production until the operation was closed and production consolidated in Nashville in 2019.
Over those years, the factory became highly specialised in this type of construction, and Memphis-built ES guitars from the period have since developed a strong reputation, with the 2010s in particular widely regarded as a very good period for Gibson semi-hollow production.
This example is a classic ES-335 in every way, with laminated maple construction around a solid maple centre block, a one-piece mahogany neck with a 1960 Slim Taper profile, bound rosewood fingerboard and a pair of Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers.
There is a fair amount of minor playwear, including small scratches and dings, which combined with the very thin nitrocellulose finish gives the gutiars a completely naturally aged rather than worn look. The finish on the back of the neck has been slightly sanded down for a more satin feel. It plays very well and the frets are approximately 98%.
Includes COA, but no other paperwork. Original black Gibson case with dark grey interior included, in good condition. Weight is 3800g.
