Gibson Hummingbird Studio Rosewood Sunburst

The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood continues Gibson’s long tradition of square-shoulder acoustic guitars, a family that includes models such as the Hummingbird, Dove and Songwriter.

Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, the Hummingbird Studio Rosewood uses all-solid tonewoods, with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer-finished Sitka spruce top and satin nitrocellulose lacquer-finished rosewood back and sides. Compared with the traditional mahogany construction of the Hummingbird, the rosewood body provides additional low-end richness and more prominent treble overtones. Its full-depth body also provides plenty of volume and projection.

The utile neck is finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer and has Gibson’s Advanced Response profile, designed to fall between the company’s larger and slimmer neck shapes. It is paired with a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays.

The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood is also fitted with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze active under-saddle pickup with soundhole-mounted volume control. A modern hardshell case is included.
