Gibson’s 2018 Custom Shop Les Paul Slash Anaconda Burst Plain Top is a limited run based on the green Les Paul Slash toured heavily in the mid-2010s. Built in the Custom Shop’s Historic department with 1950s style construction and Slash’s own neck specs and electronics, it combines classic late 50s Les Paul features with his preferred feel and output. This Plain Top version was limited to 250 guitars worldwide, all with the distinctive Anaconda Burst finish over a non figured maple top. This guitar is serial number 247.
The two piece plain maple top and nitrocellulose Anaconda Burst finish show standard playwear, with a few minor dings on the back only. Frets are about 95%, and the Custom Slash neck taper feels substantial without being oversized.
Pickups are a Seymour Duncan APH-1 in the neck and APH-2 in the bridge. Neck construction is traditional: solid mahogany with long tenon joint and rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The slightly chunky Slash profile is close to a late 50s style but slightly more user friendly. Hardware is classic Les Paul with nickel ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminium stopbar tailpiece and vintage style tuners. Weight is 3900g.
It comes in the original brown/pink Gibson Custom Shop case, with Certificate of Authenticity and case candy included.
