Gibson Les Paul Studio Wine Red 1992 BRUGT

The Gibson Les Paul Studio was introduced in the early 1980s as a stripped-back Les Paul aimed at players who wanted the core construction and sound of a Les Paul but also wanted to save some money. It kept the carved maple top, mahogany body, set mahogany neck and dual humbucker layout, but omitted body and neck binding, giving it a more workhorse feel.

This 1992 Les Paul Studio is from the early 1990s period, when the Studio had an ebony fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. That detail has become one of the more desirable features of these early Studios, especially compared with later rosewood-board versions. The Wine Red finish, gold hardware and black plastics give it the classic early-90s Studio look.

This is a really cool guitar, even though (or maybe because) it has seen plenty of action, with checking, dings and finish wear everywhere, including areas where the finish has worn through. There are no breaks or serious structural issues though. It has a very minor wood repair around one bridge pickup ring screw, changed pickup rings and replaced pickup cover. The pickups themselves are Seymour Duncan humbuckers, but we don’t know what exact models.

The frets are in great shape and may have been replaced at some point. It plays really well and has the broken-in feel you would expect from a guitar that has been properly used. Weight is 4300g. Includes a non-original gig bag.

A really killer vibey early 90s rock ‘n roll workhorse Les Paul!
