Gibson SG Standard Pelham Blue 2017 BRUGT

The 2017 Gibson SG Standard is an interesting version of the model because Gibson moved it back toward several early-1960s SG features while retaining some useful contemporary hardware. The most obvious visual change compared with many preceding SG Standards is the small teardrop pickguard, recalling the original early SG layout rather than the later full-face “batwing” guard.

This particular Pelham Blue version was produced as a limited-edition colour for the US market only. It otherwise retains the normal 2017 SG Standard specification, including the Slim Taper neck, small pickguard, locking Grover tuners and ’57 Classic pickup combination.

Pelham Blue itself has a long association with Gibson. The metallic colour entered Gibson’s custom-colour palette in the early 1960s and appeared on original SGs as well as several other models. On this 2017 version, it suits the more vintage-influenced small-pickguard layout particularly well.

This example has only minor playwear and some minor finish checking, with no dings. The frets are like new. Original case and paperwork included.
