Mørch T-Model Alu 50th Anniversary BRUGT

Johnny Mørch is one of the best-known names in Danish custom guitar building. He began building instruments in the early 1970s, and Mørch guitars have long been recognised for combining traditional hand-built workmanship with original design ideas and in-house pickup development. That background is very evident in this T Model Alu, which takes a familiar T-style format and pushes it in a more individual direction.

Rather than following a standard solidbody recipe, this model combines a wooden body with an aluminium top, giving it a distinctly different construction and response. The result is a guitar that feels more open and immediate than a typical T-style electric, with a notably acoustic character when played unplugged. That unusual unplugged response is a big part of what sets this one apart. It has the directness and attack you expect from a T-style guitar, but with a livelier and more resonant feel.

The neck profile is slim with a slightly wider feel across the board, which gives it a comfortable balance between speed and space. The pickup configuration also keeps the guitar rooted in familiar T-model territory while still reflecting Mørch’s own approach. This example is fitted with a Mørch Sunrise neck pickup and a Mørch Stetson Shade bridge pickup, paired with passive electronics. Along with the aluminium top, ebony fingerboard, Gotoh hardware, and satin nitrocellulose finish, it is a very clear example of Johnny Mørch’s more individual take on a classic platform.

This guitar shows standard playwear from normal use. Weight is 3600g. Overall, it is a distinctive Danish custom-built T-style with a slim wide-ish neck, unusual acoustic response, and a spec that stands well outside more conventional production models.
