National Reso-Phonic Triolian 2009 BRUGT
The National Triolian is one of those guitars that gets straight to the point. National Reso-Phonic has spent decades refining the old resonator formula, and the Triolian remains one of the best-known models in their line for good reason.
This 2009 Triolian 14 is a very cool example of that recipe. It has the quick attack, strong midrange and cutting projection you want from a steel-bodied National, and it is very loud. The 14-fret neck gives it a slightly more familiar feel if you are used to standard flattops, while still keeping the character that makes a resonator like this appealing in the first place.
The sunburst finish works particularly well on this model and gives the guitar a classic look without trying too hard. Condition-wise, it has clearly been played, which just adds to the coolness. There is some minor finish lifting around the heel, and the frets show some wear and minor dimpling in the cowboy chord area from regular use. Weight is 3400g.
It includes the original case, which has some wear, along with some minor paperwork. Overall, this is a well-kept and properly used National Triolian 14 that still does exactly what a good steel resonator should, and with the painted metal sunburst finish looks both a bit unusual and seriously cool.
