Mayones Duvell Elite 7 Lava Burst

Mayones has built guitars and basses in Gdansk, Poland since the early 1980s, and the brand is now closely associated with high-end modern instruments for rock, metal and progressive players. The Duvell is one of Mayones’ most recognisable designs, with a compact double cut body, sharp upper horn, bolt-on construction and a stripped-down control layout aimed at players who want a precise, responsive 7-string without extra clutter.

This Duvell Elite 7 has a Khaya mahogany body with a carved curly poplar top, finished in Lava Burst with scraped natural poplar binding. The matching headstock keeps the look tied together, while the satin natural back shows the mahogany body and the 5-piece maple/wenge neck. It is a modern 7-string in both specification and feel, with a 672 mm scale length, ebony fingerboard, stainless steel frets, 406 mm radius and a 48.4 mm nut width.

The pickup set is Mayones’ own Velvetrone pairing, with a Solium humbucker in the neck position and an Ironside humbucker in the bridge. Controls are kept simple with one volume control and a 5-way selector, giving several usable pickup combinations without adding unnecessary switches. Hardware is Hipshot throughout, including a fixed 7-string bridge and GripLock tuners in a 4+3 layout. Weight is 3500g.
